Hey Ho Halloween!

Yes here we are again and another year has passed and what a year we've had. Nearly three lockdowns down our belt and the winter is upon us. Which means that next to shitty weather and static hair it is also the time for celebration with warming drinks. And to start off, Halloween is here!

Halloween cocktails are popular

If you haven't noticed yet but Halloween cocktails are popular and not surprisingly so! We get to be extra creative and messy because if it looks messy, it suits the season. And not only that, adding a scary drink to your (social-distance) party can put a lovely spell on your guests and have them dancing the night away!

Inspiration sources

You don't have to look far to be inspired. From a bloody witch's boils (red tapioca balls), to floating eyes (half a lychee stuffed with a blackberry), to fake syringes filled with a bloody mary. Simply type in Halloween cocktail in Google and your cocktail menu is done! The most difficult part would be to decide what cocktail you won't be making!

Black Heart Margarita

I do love a good Margarita and so I couldn't help myself. Tart, sweet and oh so bloody bewitching! This cocktail will knock your socks off but baby I am here for the ride!

  • 2 blackberries

  • 1 1/2 ounces Tequila

  • 1 ounce Triple Sec

  • 1 ounce Lime juice

  • 2 drops of Red, Blue and Green food coloring

Muddle your blackberries with lime juice in a shaker. Add the Tequila and Triple Sec and food coloring. Shake well with ice. Double strain in a Martini glass and serve with a slice of lime. Dip your slice into the cocktail first to turn that fruity heart black.

Witch's whisky punch

This is a twits of a recipe that I found online which included rum.

For the colors I added a tiny bit of red food coloring but the effect is absolutely stunning!

  • 1 1/2 ounces of whisky (non-peated)

  • 2 ounces cranberry juice

  • A dash of cinnamon

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

  • Champagne or Prosecco to top off

Mix your whisky, cranberry juice, cinnamon and bitters to create the base of this potion. Fill Champagne glass with ice and pour in the bloody red liquid. Top off with Champagne and serve to your lover.

Walker Blood Sangria

To finish off the night (or to start it - depending on what you like!) I'll share with you this cute shooter! I found this recipe on Cravings of a Lunatic and I couldn't be more pleased! just look at how pretty this is! And it's so simple to make!

  • 1/2 cup red wine (something like a Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon).

  • 1 cup pomegranate juice

  • 6 oz Orange Liqueur

  • Sparkling Water to top off

Mix in all ingredients except the sparkling water and cool for a few hours.

Take out of the fridge and add the sparkling water to give the shot a little tingle. Dip the rim of your shotglasses in lime juice or orange liqueur and then in red sugar. Divide your sangria over the glasses and serve!

Stay Spooky my little ghoul followers!!
